Pazz & Jop

When I first met WNTI-FM deejay John Hammell, one of the things that most impressed him about me was that I get to vote in the Village Voice's Pazz & Jop Poll every year. I started doing this back when I was writing for Matter and The Bob, I think, and it really doesn't seem like that big a deal to me; but just in case anyone is interested, here's my 2004 ballot.

1. Ted Leo/Pharmacists - Shake The Sheets - Lookout (10 points)
2. Kevin Devine - Make The Clocks Move - Triple Crown (10 points)
3. Descendents - Cool To Be You - Epitaph (10 points)
4. Bad Religion - The Empire Strikes First - Epitaph (10 points)
5. - Wig In A Box: Songs From & Inspired By Hedwig & The Angry Inch - Off (10 points)
6. Interpol - Antics - Matador (10 points)
7. Devendra Banhart - Nino Rojo - Young God (10 points)
8. Instruction - God Doesn't Care - Geffen (10 points)
9. Bob Dylan - Live 1964 - Columbia (10 points)
10. Green Day - American Idiot - Reprise (10 points)

By the way, I posted a blog entry here back in October about my futile search for the current whereabouts of P.M. Dawn. Today, two different strangers emailed me about that entry... out of the blue, more than two months later. I would love to know how that happened.
